Inspection scope
- Technical debt
- Replacement cost
Evidence, remediation guidance and a digitally signed PDF for the selected scope
Within 2 business days after submission
Required evidence
- Source repository or ZIP
Full refund before analysis starts; after it starts, no refund for change of mind (full refund if we fail to issue the report within the turnaround time for reasons on our side).
Who this is for
- Companies that need to explain the value of their technology in numbers for fundraising or M&A
- Cases where you want to check that code assets are not over- or undervalued before a divestiture or acquisition
- CEOs who want to understand how much technical debt has built up, in business terms
What we check, and how
- Replacement cost estimateWe measure the size of the code (scc) and use COCOMO II, the standard cost estimation model in software engineering, to calculate the effort, duration and headcount needed to redevelop the same code, then convert it into a monetary amount.
- Technical debt measurementWe measure per-function complexity and other metrics (lizard) to identify what makes maintenance difficult and estimate the cost of improving it.
What the report includes
- Replacement cost (effort, duration, team size, amount) and the inputs used in the estimate
- A list of technical debt items and improvement costs
- A digitally signed PDF with an authenticity-check hash
How it works
- Upload source code: a ZIP file or a read-only repository
- Analysis in a closed network, with no external transfer
- Within 2 business days after submission: report issued
Frequently asked questions
Is this amount our company valuation?
No. It is an estimate of the cost to rebuild the same code (replacement cost) and does not replace a business valuation. It serves as supporting evidence when explaining technology assets in due diligence and negotiations.
What is the calculation based on?
We calculate it with the formulas of the internationally used COCOMO II model, and the report lists the inputs used in the estimate.
Is it safe to hand over our source code?
Source code is analyzed only in an isolated, closed-network environment and is never sent to an external LLM. Submitted source ZIPs, repository links and read-only tokens are automatically deleted once the assessment is complete, and the deletion is logged as evidence. If source code leaks through our system, we compensate 100 times the amount paid for that assessment (Terms of Service).
What do we receive?
A digitally signed PDF report that combines a one-page summary for the CEO with file- and line-level evidence your development team can act on directly. The report carries an authenticity-check hash, so it can be submitted to third parties.
Can we get a refund?
You receive a full refund before analysis starts. Once analysis has started, refunds are not available for a change of mind, but you receive a full refund if we fail to issue the report within the turnaround time for reasons on our side.
